Does anyone happen to have any idea what this cord could have been used for? I only know this type of cord in red for Kriegsfreiwillige (war volunteers).

This type of cord was worn on early shoulder boards, denoting the region's color. But it could also have been carried by the SA.
 
Thank you, Steve. I also thought about the Landesfarben. Unfortunately, Bayern doesn't match the rest of the box's contents regionally, for that it would have to be blue and black. But of course you don't know when and for what reason this cord was added to the rest.

Exactly, things like that are always difficult to say.
